Ms. Nishantel Kaur d/o Balvinder Singh is a dedicated legal professional specializing in Civil Litigation. She became a partner at Presgrave & Matthews on 1 January 2023, after serving as a Legal Assistant at the firm since 3 August 2009. Her extensive experience in handling civil disputes and legal proceedings has established her as a trusted practitioner in her field. 

She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 31 July 2009, marking the beginning of her legal career. Her expertise extends beyond litigation, as she has also developed a strong foundation in arbitration. 

Passionate about Civil Litigation, her portfolio encompasses Debt Recovery, Bankruptcy, Insolvency, Foreclosure, Employment, Property Disputes, Breach of Contract, Land Disputes, Negligence and Personal injury cases. Known for her commitment to justice, particularly in Family and Estate Administration matters/disputes, she provides compassionate support to her clients, including those from overseas. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, she diligently advocates for her clients guiding them through every stage of the legal process. In addition to her practice, she has written articles for legal publication in MLJ known as ‘A Will’s Voyage into the Digital Era’ [2022] 1 MLJ ccliii and co-authored in an article published in CLJ known as “The Failure of Gifts Under Section 9 of the Wills Act 1959 as decided in the landmark case of Harjinder Kaur Sham Singh & Anor v. Balvinder Singh Sham Singh & Ors [2017] 1 LNS 1490” [2022] 1 LNS(A) cxxiv. 

Education

Ms. Nishantel Kaur earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, providing her with a solid legal foundation. She later pursued specialized training in arbitration, obtaining a Professional Diploma in International Arbitration in 2019 and was accredited as an Affiliate Member of The Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. Furthering her specialization, she was accredited as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in 2022. Her commitment to continuous professional growth led her to achieve a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in ASEAN+6 Legal Practice and Malaysian Legal Practice from The College of Law, Sydney, Australia, on 1 August 2022.
